About Pastor Dave

Until my retirement 2 years ago, I pastored an independent Bible church in Northwest Montana for nearly 38 years. During that time I also helped establish a Christian school, and a Bible Camp. I am married and have children and grandchildren. The Wisdom of the Week devotional is an outgrowth of my desire to share what God is doing in my life and in our world, and to challenge you to be a part.

While our son and his family were here during the first week in August, in spite of the extremely hot weather, we packed each day with many activities including hiking in the wilderness to a mountain lake, biking, tennis, bocce … Continue reading

Lessons from a Honeybee (Part XI: “No More Stinger”)

There are probably few—if any—of you who have not experienced the burning pain of a bee sting.  Some of you may even be allergic to bee stings and have to be prepared with an antidote should it happen.  We initially … Continue reading

Lessons from a Honeybee (Part X: A Reliable Messenger)

One of the most crucial roles of the worker bees is the relaying of directions to find the nectar source.  Since the bees take only enough honey for fuel to get to the source and back to the hive, the … Continue reading

Lessons from a Honeybee (Part IX: Why Hexagonal Cells?)

I know you have been wondering this all your life, but have been too shy to ask: “Why is every cell in a honeycomb a hexagon?” Well, I’m glad you finally asked. Let me tell you why that is true—and … Continue reading
